Re: Switching

The US National Electrical Code [NEC] Rule 220.3(B)(9) does not limit the number of outlets per circuit, in a Residential installation.
The NEC only states that a circuit cannot supply more than 80% of the circuit breakers limits. For [not fixed] duplex receptacles, use 180VA, per outlet, to calculate ‘assumed’ load.

Canadian Electrical Code [CEC] Rule 8-304 specifies that the maximum number of outlets, per any 2-wire circuit, is 12, unless the actual connected load is known, and the load current doesn’t exceed 80% of the overcurrent device rating.
This means that the load of a typical 2-wire circuit, protected by a 15 A rated overcurrent device, is considered to be
12 A [1440W].
So, going by the CEC, you can have as many LED fixtures as you want, as long as it doesn’t exceed 80%. But as soon as there is one outlet, or non fixed load, on that circuit, it would not pass.

These rules do not apply to pleasure craft, but still represent' best practice'.
