The quality and compatibility of epoxy for barrier coats

Although Vegas aren't known for having issues with osmosis, I've decided it wouldn't hurt to throw on a 3 or so layers of epoxy, since I just scraped the hull down to gelcoat.

I'm on a tight budget, and already have one gallon of West System onboard, but I'm not really willing to dish out the $$$ for another gallon just for a few extra coats of what is, perhaps, an unnecessary barrier coat (the hardener alone runs $130 in these parts -- 3x the Amazon price!).

On the other hand, there are other epoxy resins available on the island for much more reasonable prices, here's the tech sheet for one: http://www.avfpaint.com/files/tdsliq...1282651786.pdf

Let's say I use my West System for the first two coats, and then the AVF product for the final coats. Both are epoxy resins, but likely employ a different curing agent. West System advises all coats to be applied within the same day, but to avoid some unwanted chemistry, should I allow the West System to cure fully before applying any other brand of resin?

Or should I just settle with the two coats of West System and call it a day, since the boats don't have a history of osmosis?

Or do the whole job with the local stuff, keep the West gallon for ad hoc needs, won't go bad.
