time between coats of ablative paint

I have been told that there is a time limit for painting a second coat of ablative (HRT PETTIT) over the first coat (this after thorough sanding and wiping down of the hull). Is this true? If so, what must I do before recoating? I first coated about 3 weeks ago and am poised to continue painting in the next couple days. Thank you so much. Steve

It depends on the paint manufacturer I suppose, but generally is fine. Can't go wrong with a rub down with red scotchbrite pad and quick rinse to get and pollen and dirt/ yard dust off.

Thank you, Boatguy 30. We have some great weather here on MS gulf coast, so my wife and I will be working hard to complete this bottom job this week!
