To repair or replace: Rotted sections in spruce masts

I have a classic Far East Yachts, Mariner 31 ketch, that's been setting on the hard for a while - with the masts wrapped in plastic next to the boat.

You got it! The plastic leaked and some sections of the mast are rotten or softened.

This boat is beautiful with its wood sticks and I am thinking about rebuilding these hollow masts.

Should I just go aluminum? The spruce booms are good, and there is a lot of bronze hardware on these masts.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

And, where can I get Sitka spruce on the East Coast?
