Troubleshooting my Marine Air AC System

Hello,

I've been having an issue with the AC (Marine Air Systems V12K-H) on a '74 Morgan 33 that I just purchased. The blower engages as it should, however, the compressor doesn't appear to be doing anything. What steps should I take to determine what's going on with it? Is there a way to bypass the thermostat to see if that could be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.
