Wrapping up our first season sailing since discovering and then purchasing this local racing legend, my wife and I would like to start posting photos of our refit. Which is to say, maybe less extensive than the previous ones she's experienced, but perhaps in a way more profound. We're completing the transformation that the previous owner started, from a Great Lakes racer to an ocean cruiser. I'll start with a video I recently published about her history. The astute here may get hung up on the year of the opening article. The article explains the name that the original owner gave all of his boats. A fan of the Bounty's, he liked the race performance of his first wooden Bounty so much, he chose to order the first fiberglass Bounty II of the Detroit River racing fleet, 3 years after that article was published.
