Vetus vs. Lewmar Deck Hatch

Hi Folks

Cape North 43 refit ongoing and we're replacing deck hatches. Last post I saw here on hatches is 5 years old. Opting between

Vetus Magnus

USA

and Lewmar Ocean

Lewmar Ocean Hatch

Our Shipwright says Vetus have a bad reputation. Vetus Acrylic 10mm. Lewmar 12mm. Vetus has 4 dogs. Lewmar 2 dogs. Vetus 4 hinges Lewmar2 hinges. Both CE rated.

I save about $500 on 4 hatches with Vetus and they're easier to ship to the Philippines. Anybody have bad experience with Vetus?

Hi . just so your post. I´m in the same situation... Changing portholes... Did you change your hatches ? what did you chose? Are you happy ? I like the Vetus , but find no review.

I ended up getting Lewmar and spent an extra $450 on 4 hatches. No real reason other than the guy refitting my boat wanted Lewmar
