VP 2003 How to check that the Thermostat works

Any suggestion how to easy check if the thermostat works properly ?

Engine is VP2003

put it in a cup and pore boiling water on it ! And watch....

The technique is to put it into a pot of water on the stove.

Using a thermometer, heat the water up through the proper temperature of the cooling system.

You can see the thermostat open at varying amounts for different water temperatures.

Consult with engine/thermostat specifications for your specific engine to make sure the thermostat is opening when it should.
