Wainscott Headliner Replacement

Sarah Belle is a 40 year old Shannon with a headliner that needs replacement. The deck hardware has leaked, needs to be taken off and replaced with butyl rubber bedding.

I have been using baltic birch for areas that are unseen, waterproofed on both sides with Total Boat penetrating epoxy, then painted as appropriate. However, the headliner in the main and owners cabins are bead board 2" on center. The best best seems to be Wainscott with bead 2" on center. Will be sealed both sides with total boat penetrating epoxy and painted as appropriate on the visible side.

I am looking for suppliers in the midwest that can provide something suitable with appropriate waterproof glue in the plys.

Any idea where I can find something?

Have you considered the PVC options? No rot and paintable.

For example: Reversible Interior Exterior Wainscot Panel
This comes in longer pieces too.

Did the overhead in our W32 in varnished T&G mahogany. Went to the local exotic/marine wood supplier and they custom milled 3" wide by 3/8"thick boards the length of the main cabin in our W32. It's been a long time ago but remember that it wasn't that expensive. Couldn't find stock T&G in less than 3/4" but didn't want the additional weight. Ordered extra material figuring I'd bugger up some of the boards. Ended up with enough material to make ceilings and overhead in the fore peak.

Thanks. I live in the middle of nowhere and only have one shop. They declined to mill anything that thin. But good thought.
