Waste Holding Tank

I recently discovered a pin hole leak in the bottom of the aluminum, waste holding tank. Is there a printed process somewhere to explain the removal and replacement of the tank? I own a 1998 Island Packet 40. I have called Hake Yachts, who bought out Island Packet manufacturing, in vain. Hoping a fellow sailor has done this procedure and can hold my hand and lead me through a successful new tank replacement. I would appreciate any advice the forum can give me.
Safe and happy sailing to all!!

Re: Waste Holding Tank

It was childishly simple and straight forward on my 38, but have heard it is not on a 40.
We just had a member change theirs on a 40, said it wasn't easy but they did it.
ER Brown.

I feel sure you will not find any written instructions.
I would not go back with aluminum, seems life of an aluminum tank is about 15 years.
When you replace give consideration of going to a 1" vent. I also had an additional bung added so I could add a macerator pump and pump the tank ourselves when legal to do so.

Re: Waste Holding Tank

Ronco makes many tanks if you can find one that will fit.
I had mine custom made by a company in Maine, got the name from peghall, she is the expert here on such matters
