Webasto/espar heater install, diesel line

Hello,
I was wondering if one can use a "T" off of the existing diesel pickup line where the fuel exits the tank (and where the fuel shutoff valve is) to fuel the heater or if a seperate pickup needs to be installed in the tank?

Thanks!

I believe a separate pickup is recommended, though on my old boat I installed the fuel supply for an Espar heater with just a tee in the engine supply, never had any problems.
