What glue to use?

The glass lens has fallen out of my mostly decorative barometer, it is a Plastimo about 10 years old, brass with a glass lens. What glue would be the best to replace lens?

If the glass sits in a rim on the brass case? It is possible they didn't use any glue, but they just dropped the glass onto the freshly varnished brass, and let the varnish glue it down.

In which case you probably would want to clean that rim with a small small and solvent, get it back down to clean metal, and then a light coating of new varnish should last another ten years. Crazy glue would work but if you ever needed to remove the glass, that would be a problem.

If the brass needs revarnishing overall, now's the time to do it.
