What's the deck like underneath the teak?

Given a typical production boat of the Jeannteauvaria type, is teak decking simply glued/bolted on top of a standard fiberglass deck, or is the fiberglass deck itself made differently on individual boats that are destined to have teak on top?

In other words, if one was to strip back the teak and caulking and bolts, carefully, would they eventually end up with the same standard bumpy non-skid fiberglass texture?

If so, is stripping off the teak in that manner a viable option, or is the fiberglass deck somehow degraded by having teak on top of it for many years?

(I realise that decks with a thousand bolt holes are a rather different proposition, and my questions are instead focused on the types of teak decks where glue and caulking are the norm, with very few bolts.)

Thanks!

Re: What's the deck like underneath the teak?

It's made differently, and it varies from boat to boat. On my boat the side decks have tread as part of the gelcoat. Boats with the optional teak side decks (and areas where my boat has teak) don't have this. Obviously you can't sand or hack off teak decks down to moulded gelcoat -- you'll end up with a flat surface you will have to finish with some kind of non-slip. And we've recently learned that some boats like the Beneteau and Wauquiez from the 2000s do have hundreds of screws in the caulk lines even though at first glance the teak looks like it's been vacuum epoxied down, so beware making assumptions about what you'll find underneath.
