Windshield wiper for Pilot House

My Nimble Artic 26 has a manual wind shield wiper.
the blade is about 11 inches.

It hooks into the arm with a metal clip.

I am considering replacing the whole assembly with a Seadog 412601.

Is there a better option?

Re: Windshield wiper for Pilot House

Good idea. Looking at your setup, I see that the pivot is above the windshield. That means that water is pushed up to the sides, and then runs down again to cover the same space as before. That's frustrating at best. I can think of two possible solutions. The first is to mount the new whiper at the bottom of the windshield, so water is pushed down and away. If there is not space there, consider mounting a parallelogram wiper such as this one

with the wiper blade straight up and down so it pushes water to the sides.

Wow! I think I'll get one of those for my boat - I have exactly that problem.

Re: Windshield wiper for Pilot House

We had a similar wiper and removed it. Instead we apply rainx and works well. Another plus is the windshield glass gets cleaned more often.
