Bahamas entry by boat, exit by air

In December I'll be sailing as an extra hand on a live aboard's boat into the Bahamas from Miami. A week or so later I'll be flying out while the boat and crew continues enjoying the island life. I will have an outbound plane ticket prior to entering the Bahamas.

Any concerns or gotchas with Bahamas Immigrations if I follow this plan?

You are at a port of entry, you show your passport, they let you in. Re-entering the US is the same by boat or air, except if you are re-entering by air you're likely to be given a customs declaration form to fill out, while the agents who work in places like Ft. Pierce International Airport don't really seem to care. I have been tempted to ask one of that type just who he had p####d off to get that assignment. If you want your shoes washed with bleach for free, tell them you've been walking around in a cow pasture.....

I've done this a couple of times. It has not been a problem. Since the boat is continuing on I assume you are not the skipper. It's likely that Bahamian immigration will never even see your face and will not ask how you will be returning. Returning to the US is just a standard return. You will need your passport and your Bahamas immigration form at the airport and if returning from Nassau you'll even go through US customs there.

I went through this a couple of weeks ago in Bermuda. Please say hi to Carla at the Customs office from John & Jack.

The captain needs to sign you off the crew list and you need to show an outward bound ticket at that point. No issues.

The locals are wonderful and very helpful. Get yourself a multi day bus & ferry pass to get around.

John....but we will be a bit farther south in the Bahamas...

Bill, that's what I thought would happen. Sounds easy.

Thanks all!
