Re: Canadian Registration

After you pay for that and find out it is not legal, then you may decide to spend more money and do Cdn documentation.
Read the rules..do not try and torture them to suit your own needs, does not work and you may end up losing the boat and denied re entry to the US has happened before.

Are you a "resident alien" in the USA, and not just a visitor? If you're a Canadian resident, then it seems as if none of the subsequent paragraphs apply to you.

6.1.2 Successive Cruising Licenses may be issued to a foreigndocumented pleasure vessels which were built in the United States or on which United States Customs duty has been paid, provided, that the vessel is documented under the laws of one of the countries listed in 19 CFR 4.94(b).

Once I am documented in Canada i.e "foreign documented" it sounds like I'd qualify for the successive licences.
I'll provide more info once I have it.
There is no "Documented" in Canada. There is the roughly equivalent "Registered".

I'd suggest you learn the difference between Documented and State Registered in the US .... and between Federally Registered and Federally Licensed in Canada. This may account for some of your confusion.
