How big boat lettering?

I am trying to order some boat graphics to change the name on my new (old) Tayana 37.

How tall do you think the lettering should be? I don't want it to be HUGE, but readable from a fair distance.

Thoughts anyone before I order?

7 inches should be fine.

You don't want a billboard on the back end of your boat. That would really be awkward as hell!!

If the boat is documented (in the U.S.A.), then the letters used for the name and hailing port are required to be at least four inches high. Beyond that, it's going to be a matter of aesthetics, and space available.
