I'd recommend keeping it documented.

As for changing owner, the usage from recreation and the HIN number correct, you can do that with a single CG-1258.

Your correction looks like human error with someone forgetting to include the CCY but the rest of numbers are correct. You just need to write a letter and provide an explanation and I would do a rubbing of the HIN off the stern.

I have the letter we used to correct our missing digit in our HIN, and shoot me an PM with your e-mail and I'll send it off.

Hazer, I'm late to this party, but I have the same situation. I thought you might like to know you have company.

I just bought a '74 C&C 35 MK II. It's USCG documented (573464). The Hull Number stated on the USCG document is 350248-74. The actual HIN number is CCY352480274. I have no idea how it came to be different.

It's been this way for a long time. My attitude is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. So I'm leaving it alone.
