Absolutely agree! in virtually every single regatta and beer can race I've participated in the alcohol was plainly in sight as was marine LEO. Not so much as a warning except to chuckleheads in ski boats zig-zagging through the fleet.

Growing up in the Chesapeake my father taught me "there's people who have ran aground, people who are about to run aground, and people who lie about it."

I suspect there's a lot of tall tales or virtue signaling going on in this thread (of course excluding professional mariners at work.)
