Re: SPAM

Spam, that brings back a horrid childhood memory. Rather than Spam, my mom used to occasionally pack Vienna sausages in my school lunch. I'm sure she thought they were a treat, but Gawd were they awful. Fortunately, one of my classmates relished trading his tuna & onion sandwich on white bread for that little pull-top can of potted meat. While I wasn't crazy about his mom's lunchtime cuisine, I always considered it was the better option.

Re: SPAM

I think someone on this forum was singing the praises of Vienna sausages as an easy way to stock protein on long-duration cruises. I see the cans in the store, but haven't actually bought one yet.

I think I'd rather eat boiled shoe leather than Vienna sausages.

No the old fat guy is me, the sharks of course eat meat, but I didn’t want to give them any of our good meat, so out came the Spam.
Nurse sharks are usually very tame, these moreso than ones in the wild, but they will bum rush you if your not careful. They are so tame you can pet them if your feeding them
We have hotdogs for them this year. Sort of tubular Spam.
This is the price of Spam in the Bahamas, Marsh Harbor.

As a kid growing up and fishing the “flats” in the Big Bend area of Fl, we ate Vienna Sausages and Saltine Crackers. I will still eat those two on occasion, it’s a childhood memory.
I have some aboard now, they even now come in a hot sauce, but I didn’t like that as much as I thought I would.
It’s a Pimento cheese sandwich that I can’t even bring myself to try, that and potted meat, but bet there is a lot of similarity between that and Vienna sausage.

BTW there used to be a pod of Dolphins coming in at Panama City that we would stop and feed after diving, you have to be careful, it’s apparently a felony I believe to feed them and there would be undercover FWC watching to try to catch people.
Anyway I gave one a Vienna Sausage, he spit it out
