Re: visas ,Zarpe ??

You will need your clearance papers from Barbados, or your last port, prior to clearing into Mexico( or most any place). A Zarpe is just a clearance document.

Visas are a separate issue and may or may not be required depending on the citizenship of the crew.

Re: visas ,Zarpe ??

In simplest terms, Zarpes are for boats, Visas are for people. You normally need a Zarpe, and may need a Visa.

A Visa is needed when due to your citizenship vs country of destination, you need to apply in advance for permission to visit.

The difinitve source of information regarding Visas is the embassy or consulate of the destination country. Most have this info online.

To the best of my knowledge the USA is the only country that does not issue clearance papers/Zarpes to departing foreign yachts.. usually I have to rely on my last marina bill to prove when I have departed the US.. hell.. they have not even stamped my passport.

Yes, thats an odd USA thing. Works fine for the Bahamas, not so good for Mexico. You can request clearance docs if you need them in your destination country.

CBP form #1300 Vessel Entrance or Clerance Statement, is required by MX and Guatemala now.
You will catch some grief if you show up in Isla Mujeres or Livingston without one.
