The stuff I quoted was from a 2010 permit. I think you're paying an annual fee so you should be able stay 12 months (immigration permitting and this is another entirely different matter). I assume you would have to renew the cruising permit for another 6 months. I know no further payment is required unless you keep the boat in the Bahamas for more than one year. The $300 fee for boats my size has been in place for quite a few years now. I've got CRS too and can't remember when that started. Can't even remember when it went up to $100 and everyone was going to boycott the Bahamas.
Funny enough I remember when it was FREE and the only cost was $10 for the fishing permit. Don't think those days will come back. Frankly I think the $300 is worth it but don't tell the Bahamian government that.

Update: For all our worry, there were no worries. We were never asked for anything. No question about a 1-way ticket or anything. Never had to show any paperwork to anyone. We are back in the states with the boat.
