Who's behind the little changes in NOAA

As a few of you have noticed, there have been some changes on the info NOAA spits out on 500mb charts. Some people think the changes are substantial, I am not in any way a knowledgeable person to have a formal opinion on the subject.

It is just worrysome that government agencies such as NOAA and the NWS are under the control of people with very clear conflict of interest.

The work the NOAA does benefits everyone on the North Atlantic, the Caribbean and of course the North Pacific. I believe we really need to keep a good check on this fella.
