Winchelsea Control Area WG Torpedo Went Missing?

On the morning of June 11th I heard part of a VHF 16 broadcast, that I believe was a notice of a missing torpedo from the Whiskey Golf Range in the Georgia Strait. It gave a phone number for anyone to report it, and advice to leave it alone. Is anyone else in the Gerogia Strait area aware of this situation, and whether it has been located. We will be transiting the area Saturday morning. I am more curious than concerned. I understand that they surface, and remain floating when they reach the end of their run.

Given that this is posted under "Rules of the Road...": Presumably a pooped out torpedo's status is "vessel not under command" so it has rights over a vessel under sail? ;-)

I haven't heard of it's being found or not. Since you plan on transiting the area, monitor (CMB) WX1 and VHF 21B and VHF channel 10 or 16 to avoid entering when the range is active. There is a safe transit corridor of 1/2 nautical mile north of Winchelsea Island and 1/2 nautical mile east of Ballenas Island available for passage when the range is active.
