Here are some reviews of marinas we stayed at during our sail from Oregon to Mexico.
Best and highly recommend is Monterey harbor. Great price at $33 a night for slip plus amenities ( water, electricity, showers, bathrooms, free pump out and easy refueling). Lots of places to eat and visit. Ride the trolley for free to the aquarium and 2 blocks is a grocery store.

Stay away from Channel Island Marina. It’s run down- electricals are iffy, bathrooms are all broken except for one women’s, gate doesn’t always close to lock, showers are broken. They charge $1.80 ft and you pay another $25 for a card non refundable. Businesses are closed and whole place looks sad and neglected. Docks are cracked and falling apart.

Santa Cruise- pretty speedy for overnight at a guest dock. $2 per ft plus $25 for a card non refundable. Bathrooms are in good repair as well as showers. We didn’t get out to explore.

Half Moon Bay: Nice place, lots of nearby restaurants. $1.48 per ft plus $20 for a key fob. Lots of places to walk and explore. Great nearby coffee shops!

Fort Bragg: mostly a commercial boat harbor. There isn’t a dock or bridge to get across so use your dingy. Watch the tides coming and going- low draft and high waves at high incoming tide. Bathrooms and showers work but pretty rough. Great people! Only laundry is a walk up hill to shopping center and spendy at $4 per load to wash. Very cheap to stay at $1.35 per ft.
