La Paz Marinas

I'll be heading south along Baja and into Sea of Cortez.
Plan on using a marina in La Paz as my home base while commuter cruising.
"Marina La Paz" is full.
Costa Baja and Palmira have slips available, but both are outside of town.
Any recommendations & experiences with these two marinas?

Re: La Paz Marina's

We stayed at Palmira for a few weeks when we came down in 2009 and although it is a very nice marina it is out of town quite a ways and the shuttle that the marina provided was really a hassle and always full so long waits were the norm. The only other option was a taxi ride as there was no public transportation that ran out there. I do not know much about Costa Baja but I hear it is very nice but it is even further out of the town than Palmira.
There is a Singlar marina that is closer to the downtown area but I hear there rates have gone up recently...still may be worth checking into if I were you.
Good luck!

Re: La Paz Marina's

I sayed at Palmira for months and can't say that I share that opinion. Walked most everywhere. Also stayed at Singlar. That felt remote, but it is close to the Walmart and buses going to town are very easy to catch.

I will say that all the walking I did there prompted me to get my adult sized Razor scooters. I've been enjoying them here like a graying 12 year old. They will really speed up my getting around when I get back down there.
