Marinas in Cuba ?

Anyone have any experience with marinas in Cuba? Rates (longer term, say, 3 months)? Any options for proximity to Havana itself besides the Hemmingway Marina or is that the standard/best/only choice? I am aware of the procedures and limitations (and license requirements etc) for US vessels/citizens so am just looking for info and recommendations for marinas themselves.

Thanks,

It's been years since we've been there, so rates have no doubt changed. I remember that for those who used them, they were extremely reasonable. We anchored out. I would go to Verodero (sp?) near Havana, they have a bus going back and forth. Hemmingways had a reputation for needing too many bribes to get things done (check in and check out). The marinas were largely operated by Canadian companies and very nice. Were I to choose a marine though, and going from the Bahamas down to Cuba, I would look at Puerto de Vita, very affordable, extremely protected, and an excellent place to use to explore the island.

I will try and attach an image of the location of the marinas. Cuba is not like the US and some marinas will be like resorts and others no more than a concrete pier. prices will vary from one day to the next and change the following week. Hemmingway's is the only marina near Havana. You will be required to check in at an approved port of entry and if coming from the US that will be Havana. Varadero would be the next closest.

Thanks everyone. I will need steady access to Havana (most likely) so will start looking more closely at the options in Veradaro (in addition to Hemmingway's which I have read about already but don't know any real details of).
