Need Slip or Mooring - NH or ME - June

I have a 25 ft. Hunter and need a slip or a mooring for the month of June. Every place I have checked is about $3500.00. No monthly rates either seasonal or Transit of about $30.00/ft. per night.

Has anyone found anything reasonable up here or has sailing and boating become something only for the upper middle class and above?

Ray, there has to be someplace you can moor that boat for a month at far less cost. Have you tried craigslist? Take a look there, and consider putting a "mooring needed for June" ad on craigslist.

Did you really mean $30/foot/night? $750/night?! Just to tie up a 25' boat at the transient dock? What's wrong with this picture?

great bay marine NH a bit up the creek but a good yard. Im a bit dated but assume they are still around. Also across from kittery point there is a mooring field maybe someone is cruising and could spare their mooring.
Try pepperell cove mooring services (603) 373-6812 or portsmouth yacht club 603 436-9877

Why not anchor?

In Portland, the penalty for breaking the local law (Rule 7.0 Section 7.2(l)) states:
Anchoring in a location for longer than fourteen (14) days -- Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) for the first day or part thereof after the fourteenth day in that location and Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) for each subsequent day or part thereof.

There are plenty of places in Casco Bay to anchor ... make sure you change locations after 14 days. Call the Harbor Master in Portland (207.772.2367) for the local interpretation.

I couldn't find the actual law limiting anchoring to 14 days just the penalty.
