Awnings - Foredeck / Cabin / Cockpit

I intend to treat Bluestocking to new awnings this year. Need to keep the fair skinned Missus from cooking, in the sun.
Don't really want to go back with 11ft poles.
Anyone using the Shadetree type of dome awning. Yeas or Nays.?

I've used Shadetree and think they are great. If your boat is non-standard or you think it is, give them a call. Some friends bought custom shadetree's and were talked through the whole measuring process on their cell phone. It cost a couple hundred bucks more but I must say they were gorgeous. I had a set on my last boat and was extremely pleased. A set for this boat is on my "to do" list.

The first time might take 45 min to an hour to set up and adjust, after that they can be up in about 10 min. You will have to take into account things like dutchman sail flaking or lazy jacks that can't be retracted but the appropriate slits can be built into the custom models.

They not only provide shade but the connestoga wagon shape tends to funnel whatever breeze there is. I'm sorry if I sound like a commercial but I really do like them.

I am at the same point as you with regards to the purchase. The owner of the shop who sold me my boat cover (Ship Shape Canvas) recommended the ShadeTree or Ronstan Air Arch™ Inflatable Boom Tent. He said the quality and workmanship, as well as the engineering was top notch.

I personally question inflatables, and I did speak to the owner at ShadeTree and he was very helpful in explaining to me how to get a custom fit.

I plan to order in the spring from ShadeTree, once I the exact measurements. (The Black Squirrel is on the hard and covered right now)

Thanks Rich,

I like the small storage package. Have also seen them stand up to several squalls of 30-35 knts.
Shadetree website has good photos.
