I'll be cruising in Nova Scotia and Cape Breton this summer and am wondering if anyone has had experience with AT&T cell plans (iPhone) and iPad (AT&T) service contracts?

I would seek this info from ATT and Bell Aliant. BA is a successor of the old company. Be careful, texting and roaming could cost you more than the whole trip.

Be careful while not in home areas. During last cruise , turned Droid on to get a GPS conformation. Found out that the carrier had premium charges for data but not for voice. IPhones like droids do automatic updates. Found out the hard way a bill that was over $160. Even though I have a unlimited data plan. I even checked on this with Verizon befo

No matter what, TURN OFF DATA ROAMING! Seriously, easy to do, and a nightmare if you don't. I rememeber a good news story about a guy in Mexico on Vacation, his kid decided to stream a full HD movie over data. 11, 000$ bill later...

Turning off data roaming prevents that sort of excitment.
It's nasty anyways since carriers buy from each other at bulk rates, after canceling out the usage from both sides and ding their customers at 10x or more of that.
