i would say it depends on how good your ear is. If you can't hear if you are out of tune, then the violin would be a poor choice. However, the piano feels different in every one of the 12 keys, so you have to learn 12 different feels. The violin not so much as you just slide up the neck, and altho the spacing gets closer together as you go higher on the neck, the pattern remains the same. Not so the piano - the spacing remains the same but the pattern changes with every key. SOOOOOOOO, how good is your ear?
