Re: Holy CRAP! Stories about clogged heads...

charter crew came back to the base stating the threeway-valve (actually 2way...) was defective with the honey being pumped overboard even in position "hoding tank". valve was one of those whale things with a cone. As this was in Turkey & I as basemanager not wanting my Turks to think I'd have "white sahib" prejudices I always did the head-problems myself.
so I disassembled the Whale-valve & sure enough - it was ok. Tried it out & really, in both positions the honey was being pumped overboard when the head was operated.
the solution: the tank was full to the brim & the honey was being pumped through the holdingtank-evacuation pump - a Whale handjob - which of course was possible because it's 2 valves open towards the outlet side, have to.
so the crew not only did not get the fine they had had to pay back but we charged them the 100 deutschmarks which was our customary fee.
usually a full tank can easily be recognized by a beautifully looking & smelling stream vom the tanks vent, when the head is pumped, in this case the vent was already blocked by honey...
fun & games...lots'a times...
