WOW!!!- WHat a project and What a Boat, hat took a lot of love ! !! I looked at your site and loved it ! Are you out sailing the world now?
I just looked through the whole gallery. That was a heck of a project. Not only was it a labor of love but that sailing bug bit hard a good hold throughout the years. Very well done. I really like the rounded hull and that all the interior woodwork has no corners. Very creative and turned out great!

Several bloggers have started a collaborative effort to make it easier for readers to find blog posts on specific cruising and liveaboard topics. It's called The Monkey's Fist - if you are a blogger, take a look and please consider contributing a link. In our first month, we have 11 published topics with 4 more in development. We have 8 topic coordinators working on additional topics. Over 60 bloggers have contributed links.

I want to be the first person to circumnavigate the globe and not write about it!
(But I do post photos and comments on Instagram for family and friends)

Wordpress.com ones are easy to make. It would be need to have a feed that could pull one's cruiser's forum posts.

Re: How Many Have a Boat Blog or Website ?

We keep a blog. When I started reading these things in college in the mid-late 2000s, it seemed like there wasn't more than 5 or 6 blogs chronicling the sailing exploits of people <35 years old. It's a less elite group these days, it seems.

Are more young people doing it, or are we all just blogging about it?

Re: How Many Have a Boat Blog or Website ?

I do a modified blog/website. I set the blog up more like a web site one can comment on. That is a post is a project, so there are few posts as I keep updating the same post/project.

Re: How Many Have a Boat Blog or Website ?

Blogging while cruising can be a chore at times. I mostly post pics on our blog. I have an app that allows me to work on the blog off internet. Then when we hit town I send off the posts. Our family and friends seem to enjoy it.

Really takes like 10 minutes or less 1 or 2x a week to maintain a blog. It does not take too much away from being "out there" 😜

Re: How Many Have a Boat Blog or Website ?

I am now catching up on 11 years! A non- sailing friend asked "how do you remember what you did?" Log Books! Thank goodness for those notes. Interestingly, seeing a lot of boats that don't do them anymore...is it a generational thing or doing the blog suffices?

Re: How Many Have a Boat Blog or Website ?

I've meticulously documented my lengthy refitting of Oystercatcher, my Ericson 25. I'm so meticulous, in fact, that I've only had time to document about 1/2 to 2/3 of my work on the boat. Nevertheless, the pictures and the details that I have provided on the website have already proven to be of great value to me. I often go back an read my own articles to remind myself of how exactly I did this or that task. I'm now on my third 35mm camera. I've worn out two others.
