Dave C, 'sorry to hear of your collision. Please give us a follow-up. Did the operator of the vessel that struck you stop to assist? Was the incident properly reported? Did the operator of the other vessel acknowledge his fault? Are you expecting proper compensation? Was there any damage to the other vessel? It's always surprising to see these incidents of negligence where a collision occurs with no excuse, .....weather, visibility, simplicity of navigation for safe passage......

Yes he stopped and offered to call seatow but I called the Coast Guard and they dispatched the FWC who to both of our information. The other captain, if you can call him that, admitted he wasn't watching where he was going, he had about 6 girls in tiny bikinis on board and 2 other guys. He has insurance but I have not got the accident report yet because the FWC says it takes 3 weeks or so to file it. I imagine he has good insurance as I estimate his boat around 180000 dollars. His boat was barely scratched. It was a clear sunny day and I had all sail up and moving at 3.5 knots. I just want my boat fixed!
