Nope.. but I knew a guy who had The Saint tattoo'd there back in the 60's.. took 7 pints of Scrumpy to get him there..

Re: Tattoos for Sailors - Good or bad?

I heard that it was a tourist bragging about his “Wendy” and the Jamaican, by way of meeting the challenge revealed his tattoo…….”welcome to Jamaica and have a nice day”.

Re: Tattoos for Sailors - Good or bad?

I dated a nurse who worked in a managed care facility. There was an old woman that as a girl had a butterfly tattoo on her Brest. Now it's an eagle.

Tattoos acquired at one age may not be the message you want at an older age. Many people are embarrassed by tattoos from their youth.

Re: Tattoos for Sailors - Good or bad?

Tattoos are cool when you are young, but not so much as you age.

I'm around lots of "kids" that I hired in their late 20's and early 30's with full "sleeves" which are tattoos that cover their arms from shoulder to wrist.

These guys and girls are ex-military and are now civilian Techs either hardware, software, or cyber.

Re: Tattoos for Sailors - Good or bad?

I look at tattoos as something you do and have to live with forever. I have never see something I was willing to put on my body forever.

But as I age if I start losing my mind I might get the number of who to call if found on my arm!

Re: Tattoos for Sailors - Good or bad?

Myself, my wife and my kids (they are 23 and 26) recently all got the same tattoo. It is an outline map of Lake Superior, where they grew up, we live and we all love.

I contemplated getting it on my forearm with a caption "not to be used for navigation" Got it on my upper bicep.

Maybe a bathymetric map of my bay so I can navigate with it would be a good idea!
