Re: The Cruiser-Kiter Lifestyle

We regularly kite off the trawler. I had posted some pictures and description of the methods we use at

www.cat5kiteboarding.com

also:

This summer I have the boat in Nassau and will be making trips down the Exumas. You may see us kiting down there, but sorry, no blog.

/just took up kiteboarding.....and the cruising lifestyle.
We mount the go pro on the middle strut of the kite with zip ties...nothing fancy. Took a little trial and error but it works well. And we always beach launch (so far). You?

Not cheap but very small to stow for a water sport. Small boards and backpack sized bags for the kites.

We were told we couldnt kite in Suwarrow also 'because it would disturb any whales'. How a metal runabout with a big engine was ok and a wind powered tiny board wasnt...not sure, but of course we respected the park rangers request.

Internet here is too slow to stream but if drift launching is what I think it is we have done it once (put kite face down in water, let it slide out). Scary but effective.
