I guess if you are sailing nude you at least always have something to practice your clove hitch on...

A friend of ours recently admitted...

It was an unusualy hot day and he was sailing across the bay alone in his boat, when he suddenly got the urge to "let the warm breeze blow where its never blown before"
He scanned the horizon, even getting the 'binocs' out, just to be certain there was nobody around. Stepping out of his shorts, he stretched up, legs wide apart arms up in the air thinking "this is the life" Suddenly the long-time silent VHF jumped into life with a very loud wolf-whistle!!! Grabbing his shorts and dashing below, he missed the top step, falling forward against the table with his newly aired tackle, he then landed in a heap on the cabin sole, groaning.

The worse part was that evening, trying to explain to his wife the unusual marks and bruising!!!!!

Needless to say, he has never done it since

Sailing Nude

Hi , I've been sailing most of my life and i sail nude whenever I can because it is more comfortable and instills a sense of freedom and relaxation that is difficult to achieve in the world today . There is nothing worse than sitting in wet bathing suits getting a itchy bum when the alternative is to air dry in minutes .

Sometimes we go for days on end without clothes and it is fantastic !

All my friends think I 'm crazy until they build up the nerve to try it and then the hardest part is convincing them to put their clothes back on when we return to so called civilization.

Cheers from Thailand !

10 Pages on this topic !! On a tropical passage you don't want to end up with stacks of laundry, so you just don't wear any - not even a swim suit - what's the point or purpose. It's just practical. I don't find there is anything mystical or kinky about it, that's just land-based hang-ups.

We wear hats and sunglasses and sunscreen.

Well, after reading all these entries...I decided what the heck, and gave it a try. Yep, I promised myself, the next time I got on the boat I was going to wait til we were safely out of harbor and then just shuck down to nothing and see how it went.

Well, it was great for about the first three minutes. Then people started pointing and yelling. The captain and one of his crew came down and told me to put my clothes back on. And by the time the Ferry docked in Woods Hole, there were two police cars waiting at the dock.....

man, this sailing naked is complicated, isn't it? Who knew the Commonwealth of Massachusetts had laws against it?

funny reminded me of the boat that wouldnt float. When Mowatt stands up and waves to a passing ferry not remembering his lack of cladding.

Curious that THOSE photos don't show up in your CW articles. I guess Elaine hasn't gotten quite that liberal yet in her editing!

And Canibul, that was hysterical. Almost made me spit out my coffee!

I guess you see it a lot in Europe but I can tell you that down in Florida and throughout the Caribbean being nude aboard is a common sight. It just makes sense when you're cruising in remote locations
