Treasure! 'X' Marks the Spot!

If you have kids and are in or bound for the British Virgin Islands then take your kids over to Benures Bay on Normans Island. Mark and Jane from Imagine have started a treasure chest there....there is a large white flat rock against the cliff and it has a wide crack in the middle of it in the shape on an X.
They left some trinkets and stuff there for other kids to climb up and find. We also left some stuff from New Zealand there and several other boats with and without kids have also done the same. Let the kids find the treasure but also leave something there for the next kids who come along to find....Let's see if we can't make this a bit of a tradition for the kids!!!

Nice thing to do for the kids. A century or two ago, I was playing charter skipper in the BVI and we used to drop reproduction Spanish coins on floor of the "treasure" caves on Norman Island - a good touch at the time.

Hey guys if you want to find allot more go to www.geocaching.com. You may even want to list your cache there. We have fun with this all the time. You would be amazed at the number of caches around the world. I've found them in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Canada, USA, and many other places I've been.

I will make sure my boat leaves a treasure for the kids at the BVI and why not San Blas, Panama as well.

I was looking for a thread specific to geocaching, but along coves/island ect ect. I dont know if there is a marine-specific, but i think it would be a neat idea.
