Here is a bit of data that may help.

Any Concave new Generation anchor will be better than a Plow Anchor.

On a positive note, Plow anchors are self cleaning as they drag.
Interesting that in all of those tests, not one agrees on the best anchor - in fact the Delta is second best in one!
All highly variable, but I agree with most - the Delta is not a bad anchor - there are much worse, and there are some better.

It would be good to see Panope get one of these. The anchor tests he's doing are a great service to us all.

Re: 2 FREE NEW 45 lbs. Delta Anchors

I have a hard time reconciling the choice (rejection) of anchors, with the choice (will drink) of Budweiser. I think the last time I ordered Bud, it was a $2 pitcher that went with the $5 18" pizza at a pub that had very limited draft selections. But do tell, once you get the Delta's out of the way, just which modern anchor is going to be your earthscrew?

Re: 2 FREE NEW 45 lbs. Delta Anchors

Well, I wanted to thank Island Time O25 for coming out on this first snow of the season to pick up his NEW 45 lbs. Delta Anchor.

Had a great exchange with him and now I will have a couple of his tasty beers.

Thanks Island Time O25

Next Anchor is going to Panope once I can get over to a UPS shipping store.

Thanks Cotemar! The nasty drive back was worth it and your anchor will certainly be appreciated. Hope we will cross our ways sometime in the Carib and I will gladly provide our next few beers.

Re: 2 FREE NEW 45 lbs. Delta Anchors

Not as bad as my CQR..... Some dont like danforth, but i had good luck with them. my delta dug in so Deep in key West, huricane did not move my 35 ft oday. It was hell getting it up. Almost had to dive it. I think it depends on bottom conditions mostly. <thats why I have 4 types,
just my 2 cents

They came with my new boat, but I took them off in the first 10 minutes.

Tried a few time to sell them on e-bay, but apparently no one uses these POS anchors anymore.

Legal Note: For safety to life and vessel, please do not use these to anchor your boat, EVER.

Possible uses:
1) To hold down the tarp on your wood pile.

2) To hold your mail box.

3) To pull behind your yard tractor and till for a garden.

4) Throw in the back of your pick-up truck to add weight over the winter months.
