I've got 300' of rusty 3/8 available for free in the Annapolis area, you pick up at Bert Jabins sometime next week.

BTW, given the weight of chain and shipping expense it would be helpful to know if you're currently in Florida, Amsterdam, Thailand....?

Re: Anchor chain

Thanks for the offer but that will not fit my windlass. I am in Canada but will be travelling down the eastern seaboard to Richmond in the next week or so.

You could ask the folks at Kingston Anchor if they either sell it or could recommend a local vendor.

Did you try Marine Outfitters?

Re: Anchor chain

Hmmmmm... rusty 3/8" vs new 5/16"? Free? You might see if you can get a new or used wildcat for your windlass that will fit the 3/8", if that chain isn't too badly pitted and wasted. I bet it will do you for a couple of years, at least as your backup rode?

Re: Anchor chain

I have a 200' length of brand new US-made high-test 5/16" chain. Also a 50' length. And a 400' rode on the boat in Mexico. (I bought a barrel a few years ago.)
I am looking to trade the 400' rode for a 200+' length of 3/8".
