Anybody Transiting to Rio Dulce Soon?

Hey there team -

I've got a couple of Rubbermaid bins of tools/gear that I need to get from north Florida to RD. If anybody is headed that way & willing to schlepp one or two of them for me, I'd be willing to repay in kind, trade out some labor when you get there, or just pay a fair price for the favor.

Ping me if you're willing.

Much mahalo!
B.

Yup, that's plan A. THX for posting the info.

I met Rita when I was there last month. Chris Stanley of SeaKist Yacht Services also does receiving in RD thru Transcargo. It's the season & I just figured I'd ask around. Sometimes a guy gets lucky & can save a few bucks.

How quickly do your bins need to be there? We're in coastal Georgia heading south early December. However, we're heading to the Bahamas, but will be in Rio Dulce by June 2018. If you can wait that long, we could possibly get it there for you.

Knowing absolutely nothing about shipping to Rio Dulce, is putting the stuff into a small footlocker and shipping as checked baggage on your airline out of the question? George

No, but use an ice chest and then sell the ice chest...they are expensive here in Guate.

Re: Anybody Transiting to Rio Dulce Soon?

CaptsWife - Much mahalo but I've got to get it there in the next month or so. Maybe I'll see ya when you get to RD.

gts1544 & belizesailor - I'll be checking thru (probably) 2 boxes when I fly in. It is, however, quite the monkey circus to wrangle the stuff thru the Aurora arpt & from there to the bus station in G-city.

THX all!

Re: Anybody Transiting to Rio Dulce Soon?

Im on the Rio now after a long abscence. Talking with a contractor friend here who informs me the SAT (Customs) corruption scandals have now impacted importation. He has had a shipment held up in SAT for almost a month now. [emoji852]

Gone are the good old days of easy inexpensive importation...at least for now.

I will gladly haul some stuff down but it needs to be compact. Still about a week or so to launch.

Re: Anybody Transiting to Rio Dulce Soon?

Just joking, but with current SAT problems you could probably defray some costs by moving some cargo. 😆
