BMW D50-2 for free

We are pulling our motor from a Krogen 38 and going electric. Motor has about 400 hrs since overhaul in 2010 but needs new rings and Pistons at very least. Parts are incredibly hard to find for this motor so if there's anybody out there trying to keep a Lord Nelson original or just trying to keep spares for a BMW D50 we might have what you need. Boat is in San Diego but we need your help to physically pull it and take it away. After that it's yours.

No, I'm too far away. I have same engine still going well, but frightened of the day when it doesn,t. Have you located any supplier of parts, who may I ask.
Also how many hours your engine done.?
Thanks

Re: BMW D50-2 for free

You can find piston rings for just about anything in a "standad parts catalog" Every automotive machine shop in the USA has one. The same is true for lots of parts; valves, springs, bearings, piston rings etc. It helps if you can measure everything for yourself.. In a way it's like roller bearings and seals but you need to measure the parts instead of getting a number from the part it self.
