Cristec CPS3 Battery Charger (New)

I recently purchased a 2015 Jeanneau 409 dealer demo with 75hrs on the engine. This battery charger was installed from the factory. I replaced it with an inverter/charger so I have no use for it.

I looked up how much they sell for and I was shocked by how expensive these are.

Selling for $680 FIRM.

If it doesn't sell, you may consider re-installing it so that you have two chargers.

Are you saying I should keep it as a backup or actually use 2 battery chargers at the same time?

Both actually.. We have the original Cristec that came with our SO45 as well as the Xantrex Inverter/Charger.

When we use both, we get 180Amps of total charging or more so we can recover the batteries faster with our genset (less fuel per AH). It's also a good backup in case the inverter charger fails, and the Cristec supports international power which out inverter/charger does not, so when we travel we can plug directly in to 230v if needed.

Re: Cristec CPS3 Battery Charger (New)

He gave you a better answer than I could but I too have a stand alone 60 amp charger and my 125 amp inverter / charger so I can charge at 185 amps, as well as having a back up

Re: Cristec CPS3 Battery Charger (New)

Nobody? I am giving it away at this price.

There must not be much of a demand for battery chargers I guess....

Re: Cristec CPS3 Battery Charger (New)

For a lot of sailors, if they haven't seen it at a boat show or West Marine, they don't know the brand. Cristec isn't a common North American brand and won't attract the usual buyers. Have you tried eBay?

That makes sense.

These battery chargers sell for almost $2k in Europe.

I will definitely give eBay a try. Thanks!

Re: Cristec CPS3 Battery Charger (New)

We may be interested. We are in the Bahamas and plan to return to FL March 8. We are planning to upgrade our solar, charge controller and battery charger at that time. Let's message each other.
