Re: Dinghy Davits

Thanks for the reply, but we need to a get a pair of davits so we can lift and store the dinghy.

Re: Dinghy Davits

Burning, are you planning to sail with your dinghy in the davits? If so, do remember that they should be strong enough to take the shock-load of a wave breaking astern of you & filling your dinghy with water. Happened to us in the S Caribbean. If you're in those sorts of conditions, you probably have other things on your mind & don't want to have to deal with broken davits & rescuing dinghies full of water! But few folks realize this, & most davits we see aren't engineered for it. Good luck!

Re: Dinghy Davits

Thanks. Dinghy will be deflated and stored when we sail. Right now we are in a slip across from a nice little island we like to visit, and having to deflate and store the dinghy regularly to prevent growth is a pain. So wanted to be able to lift it on davits. Thought about the dinghy sling net, but not sure it'll work with my transom and swim ladder.
