Re: Dodger frame, 1" SS tubing

Cheechako - thanks for the note, yeah it's a pretty nice frame. We took it off our Hylas since we have a large bimini as well, and we're going to go with a windshield attached to the bimini to open up the cockpit a bit.

I would really like it too, but I suppose shipping to Brooklyn would be a bit much; and I'd also need to measure first. Thank you!

Anton - yeah, not sure what shipping would run for something like this. But let me know if you think it will fit your 38. Thanks.

Many people (including me) get confused when looking at pipe vs tubing.

This may help

Thanks Pelagic, very interesting. Sounds like we can safely call this tubing!

MBSail, Sorry to say my boat is about 6 inches to narrow for the 71 inches. It is only 65".
thanks anyway. jmc

You can adjust the width but cutting out the amount you need to remove from the horizontal tubes and rewelding it. Still might be a bargain if you can find a tig welding person to do it reasonable. I did it once on a big bimini without welding. I got the whole thing with the canvas and a cover for under $200. Instead of welding, I cut the tubes, bought tubing that slid inside the existing tubes perfectly and put a set screw in each half!

Re: Dodger frame, 1" SS tubing

I believe this might fit my boat if it is still available. I will get some measurements in the AM and get back to you. Like you said, it would be an easy modification if need be.

Thanks,

Re: Dodger frame, 1" SS tubing

Hi Salty Sailor - just to be clear, Cheechako actually posted the reply about doing a modification to the dodger -- I don't have any experience with doing a modification of this sort.
