Re: Edson boat step

I'm guessing that's made out of aluminum?

Re: Edson boat step

I am pretty sure it is cast aluminum, powder coated. It's on Edson's website

Re: Edson boat step

Are there rubber bumpers on the back side? How far out do they hold the step from the hull? My hull has some tumblehome and I'm just wanting to make sure the aluminum won't rub on the gelcoat.

Sorry for all the questions.

Re: Edson boat step

Yes, there are small white bumpers on the back side. I have a Awlgripped dark blue hull, and never left a mark, but when cruising, I would take it up at night. It just hangs straight down, but I am trying to visualize what it would be like with that reverse curve. Probably fine if no too severe. If it is similar to a Hinckley Picnic Boat, at the transom, It would probably need to be closer to the turn in the hull. edit: if you look at the second pic, enlarge it, you will see how the bumper is pressed in at all four corners, extending to the back, obviously.
