Hi, I am heading off to Fiji in a couple of weeks and would like to have on board some paper charts. Has anyone travelled over there and have some charts they would like to sell me. Also keen to hear of the special places to anchor as we are over there in our cat for 3 months.. Any information greatfull received. Vic

I have some Pacific chart copies for sale. I can look thru and see what is in Fiji if reproductions are OK. Not sure if shipping to Oz makes sense.

Cruising guides are hard to find for this area - well, not hard to find, but quite dated. Here is what I think is available (you can search on Amazon for details with these titles - I just checked and they are all still available):
Pacific Crossing Guide - 3rd edition this is the only relatively recent guide
South Pacific Anchorages
Landfalls of Paradise

This online resource is reasonably up to date, updated by cruisers and free:

I'm currently in Fiji and have started to use the Fiji Atlas for Mariners. It is a free app that basically has all of Fiji in Google Earth along with suggested routes through the reefs. You can zoom in as you go through areas with reefs and the app uses the phones GPS to paint a small box representing your boat. It can be found at cruisingfiji.blogspot.com. If you are bringing an IPad check out Ovital Maps. It also uses google earth or other sources that you can download images for use offline.

There is an old (1993) guide book written by Michael Calder - A Yachtsman's Fiji. If you google the name you can find a site that will provide a free download. Way out to date but still has good basic info.

Soggy Paws is a great resource and there are also numerous blogs on places to sail and anchorage in Fiji - Google is your friend
