[SOLD] Freiberger Trommel-Marine Sextant with box and adjusting tool

Iver C. Weilbach & Co Trommel Freiberger Sextant-

This German made sextant (serial number 27420) is in ok condition. The box has some wear and there is a small spots on the mirror. It has the alignment tools as shown.

Was part of an inventory of an older Island Packet 350 that the owner suffered from dementia, removed from interior contents of boat prior to selling. Seems in good shape had been lubricated so moving parts are still smooth, as in the mirrors pivot smoothly

Selling for the family, price is set as $265.00 OBO plus USPS shipping

I am interested. Is there any indication of the year it was manufactured. How bad is the spot on the mirror? Would it still be usable?

in the very corners of the mirror there is some delamination it seems.

Date on the attached photo seems to be 1960 something?
Germans write dates, day, month, year I believe as opposed to the illogical US method of month, day, year

According to the DHI proof sheet, the sextant was tested for accuracy on 25 August 1964.

Mirrors and alignment will be another $150 giving me a good sextant for $300.
