Furuno radar model 1830 for sale

$100 or best offer.

This radar is currently not fully working. It powers up and the scanner "sweeps". The issue is the display shows circles of hundreds of "targets" at all levels of zoom. None of the real targets are showing, such as other boats or the shoreline or a dock, etc. so for all practical purposes it is not working.

After explaining the problem to Furuno the response was

" would check inside of the radar dome and make sure there is no water or condensation. My educated guess would be something in the radar, the part that is up in the mast, but to be safe i would send both in just so they can check both units together. We still work on this units but the parts are limited."

I decided to upgrade instead of fixing. When working it was a great radar.

Being sold "as is". Includes display, 24" scanner (radome), cable (in two parts), manual, and power cord. The cable is probably about 40-50' long.

I'll post a few pictures shortly. If it's not sold within a week I'm giving it to a friend (he likes to tinker with electronics).
