I'm interested. What do you think it would cost to recertify?

I priced it so that the buyer could spent up to $1000 to get it recertified and still be ahead of buying new. The raft has been in stored inside a building in the box it come in 90% of its life so no heat or UV damage. The actual recert cost will depend on the rafts condition, your location i.e., shipping cost and I suppose how much of the "standard supplies" you want to replace in stead of using your own personalized ditch bag, stored with the raft.

Others with real life experience with the recertification process are welcome to weigh in, provided your experience is with a less than 5 year old raft.

FYI Vane Brothers in Baltimore (40 minutes from Annapolis) does recerts. Not sure what their turnaround time is.

The first recert is pretty predictable. Replace expired supplies, inflate and test. Cost varies depending on model of raft but is generally cheaper for coastal rafts. I would call Vane or similar and ask for an estimate. They may be reticent but I bet you could get a range from them.

I have an Elliot (coastal) raft from (2012). Due date was Jan/2014. I re-certed Dec/2016 (in essence let's say it never got serviced and it was 4 years old). The cost was 1,430. This was with Vane Brothers in Norfolk.

That included the inspection and they changed a good assortment of stuff including flares, re-hydroed cylinders, fills, the hydro release (which lasts only 2 years), and a 195 usd battery w/ inside light thing I never understood what it was.

I don't think I will recertify my raft in a loooong time. A funny racket this one is with rafts in the US.

Hope this shines some light on the costs. It's a tricky slope. Sorry if this messes with the pricepoint you are looking to get, but this is the honest truth.
